LAPTh, an overviewLAPTh is a mixed research unit (UMR 5108) of the CNRS (within the Institute of Physics, INP) and the Université de Savoie. It is located in Annecy-le-Vieux, 5km from the centre of Annecy and about 40km from CERN and Geneva. The activities of LAPTh are centred around three main areas of research:
NewsWere are not guinea pigsA LAPTh member on the French TV show "On n'est pas que des Cobayes" (we are not only gunea pigs). This is a regular show on the national channel France 5. Richard Taillet was invited to participate in the issue of January 10, 2014, where friendly "cobayes" wonder if one can jump off a running train, as in the movies. FameLabThe CCSTI Cran Gevrier, LAPP, and LAPTh teamed up for the organisation of one of the four regional finals of FameLab on 17 april 2014 in Annecy. FameLab is an international contest in scientific communication, which was created in 2005 at the Times Cheltenham Festival, and which involves each year more than 5000 young scientists and engineers from more than 20 countries. This year, the first French edition of this contest will take place, organised in collaboration with AMCSTI, CNES, CERN, INSERM, and Cheltenham Festival. The candidates for FameLab France have to

The Cosmic bubbleGuilhem Bernard a PhD student at LAPTh was invited, during the Fête de la Science (the yearly Science Festival), on the news programme of the French channel FR3 to talk about his project (the cosmic bubble) and the importance of outreach especially towards young children.
