Postdoctoral position on Astroparticle & Cosmology.

Job description:
A 2yr CNRS/ANR postdoc position is open at the LAPTh, Annecy, France, starting in Fall 2021 (earlier/later start possible). Application and selection will be carried out starting in December 2020, until the position is filled.  We accept applications until the position is filled, but priority will be given to applications received by 10 Dec.
 
The fellowship is designed for young researchers, just finishing their PhD or with no more than 2 years of postdoctoral experience at the start of the contract.
 
We expect the successful candidate to work on theoretical predictions for compact object populations, to model the formation and evolution of different classes of high-energy emitters, and to characterise gravitational waves and, more generally, multi-wavelength signals. 
Know-how in population synthesis codes and knowledge of the theory of compact object formation and evolution is recommended.

LAPTh invites applications for a postdoctoral position funded by IFCPAR (Indo-French Center for Center the Promotion of Advanced research) within the framework of the project 'Beyond Standard Model Physics with Neutrino and Dark Matter at Energy, Intensity and Cosmic Frontiers'. We are seeking a candidate with expertise on phenomenological aspects of physics beyond the standard model, dark matter or neutrino physics. The successful candidate will work with french members of the project (G. Bélanger, C. Delaunay at LAPTh and S. Kraml at LPSC Grenoble) as well as with collaborators from India (M. Mitra, R. Godbole).

PhD position starting in Fall 2020

LAPTh PhD in theoretical physics:

" Multi-Wavelengths probes of the Fermi GeV excess: from radio to X rays " (H/F)

The project aims to shed light onto nature of the Fermi GeV excess discovered by the Fermi-LAT telescope at GeV energie towards the Galactic bulge.
The nature of this excess is still a mystery: high-energy emitting compact objects in the Galactic bulge can be responsible of the emission at GeV energies. The topic of the PhD thesis proposed articulates along two main research axis: 1) Predict multi-wavelength signatures of this new population of compact objects from radio to X-ray; 2) Develop dedicated search strategies to look for this population in radio and X rays, with the final goal of discovering (or refuting) the evidence for high-energy emitting compact objects in the Galactic bulge also responsible for the GeV emission.

In the framework of the French Excellence Initiative ENIGMASS, we are seeking candidates for a post-doctoral position at LAPTh starting in Fall 2020. The fellowship is designed for young researchers, just finishing their PhD or with no more than 2 years of postdoctoral experience at the start of the contract. The successful candidate will join the LAPTh astroparticle and cosmology group and is expected to work on theoretical/phenomenological strategies and analyses to test the dark matter paradigm as well as specific models via gravitational interactions.

Postdoctoral position in HEP phenomenology

Job description:

The HEP group at LAPTh Annecy invites applications for a postdoctoral position funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR). The position is for 2 + 1 years, starting from fall 2020.

We are seeking a candidate with expertise on effective field theories applied to flavour physics. Experience with advanced EFT approaches such as soft-collinear effective theory is a plus, although it is not necessary to apply. Close interaction with the LHCb group at the adjacent LAPP building is foreseen.

However, applicants from all areas of high-energy phenomenology are encouraged to apply.
